“This Used to Be a Disco” follows the cranky 71-year-old owner of the last-standing gay bar in Paterson, New Jersey. As he rallies support to save the bar from an incoming development project, his escalating battle with a young, gay, tech exec will risk undermining the very community he’s sworn to serve. The film shines a spotlight on aging, gentrification, and generational divides within the LGBTQ+ community, all through humor, heart, and an irresistible pop and disco-inspired score.
